Is there such a thing as lunar cycle fertility? Well some say absolutely yes, although you’re not likely to have a detailed conversation about this with your fertility specialist. Back in the 1950’s Dr Eugene Jonas, a Czech psychiatrist, said that there was indeed evidence of lunar cycle fertility.Dr Jonas was faced with the problem of women presenting with unwanted pregnancies; the rhythm method was failing dismally for many women so Dr Jonas set out to research why.
Dr Jonas studied astrological history which claims that women do experience lunar cycle fertility. Jonas was certainly not gaining support from his peers or from the science community in respect to him bringing these ideas forward. All these years later you still won’t find a great deal of support from the mainstream medical community that the moon can impact fertility.
There are many women however that swear by the Jonas method. There are women who conceive during their period, the Jonas method explains how this can be. There are women who have tried to get pregnant for months on end and when their lunar cycle and their ovulation time coincide it’s like a super charged cycle and they get pregnant!
Not everything in our world is able to be explained logically and so a little bit of open mindedness and the recognition that the moon does affect a great number of things on our planet then the Jonas method is not altogether unfathomable.
Dr Jonas put forward that although there is the bodies ‘normal’ ovulation and fertile times each month that there is the additional opportunity to ovulate during a women’s individual lunar cycle. Lunar cycle fertility is basically a second spontaneous ovulation that can occur at specific times related to astrological birth charts.
If you are open minded and willing to try anything then having your lunar cycle calculated by an astrologer will give you your specific lunar cycle fertility dates and times. This is one thing that although a little out of the ordinary is certainly worth a try.
