Ovulation Test

Knowing when you’re ovulating is one of the most critical keys to getting pregnant there is. If you get this wrong you can really waste a great deal of time. If you haven’t used an ovulation test before then you really should be. Read my other post on free methods here and why they aren’t the best option for pinpointing your ovulation. So assuming you understand the need to use ovulation tests and how they could double your chances of getting pregnant I will cover off several ways to make the most of them over a series of three posts. Here is the first of three:

1. Test Every Day!

Test everyday once your period is finished. This might seem like it’s going to be expensive but you really need to be an expert at interpreting an ovulation test before you can cut back so a good investment at the beginning will mean you might be able to use less later on.

There are only a few windows of opportunity when it comes to capturing the all important positive result on your ovulation test so skimping on using them will only be counterproductive.

You really need to be confident about what you’re seeing on your test result which will come from experience. At the beginning you will probably stare at your test result over and over, holding it to this light, that light and of course the outdoor natural light to try to figure it all out…but with experience you’ll find not a question in your mind as to whether the test is positive or negative; it will be obvious.

If you can afford to then you could use digital tests, they simply give you a yes or no answer but you still need to test regularly and they are a good deal more expensive than the non-digital tests. I really think it’s just as well to use the cheaper tests that you interpret yourself as they are easy once you’re used to them and because you can buy them in bulk at a good price there’s less chance that you’ll cut back on using them.
